Webinar: Xylem Vue powered by GoAigua Transforms Buffalo’s Aging Infrastructure Into A Smart Sewer System

Buffalo Sewer Authority (BSA) faced the challenge of reducing nearly two billion gallons of annual combined sewer overflows (CSOs) impacting its receiving waterways. With limited funds and aging infrastructure, BSA embraced innovative technology and implemented a real-time decision support system (RT-DSS) in partnership with Xylem. 

The Xylem Vue powered by GoAigua integrated software and data analytics platform is optimizing existing infrastructure and transforming Buffalo's massive gravity sewer system into a managed conveyance and storage system.

Oluwole A. (OJ) McFoy is a passionate public servant and water sector executive with over two decades of leadership in advancing innovative strategies, delivering large-scale multi million-dollar comprehensive plans and capital projects, and expanding equitable public health policies. A native of Buffalo, NY, McFoy was educated in the Buffalo Public School system and is a 1993 graduate of Hutchinson Central Technical High School. McFoy earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Civil Engineering from Clarkson University and a Certificate in Executive Management from the University at Buffalo. He is also a licensed Professional Engineer registered in the State of New York. 

Since 2007, McFoy has served as Chairman of the Buffalo Water Board, championing regional water quality initiatives and overseeing a recently negotiated $75M 10-year public-private partnership to provide reliable and professional delivery of drinking water for the City. In his role, McFoy has initiated major programs such as Replace Old Lead Lines (ROLL) to combat lead poisoning, and the City’s Residential Affordable Water Program – focused on ensuring that water services are equitably delivered and are affordable for all residents.

Rosaleen Nogle, P.E.

Rosaleen is a multi-state licensed professional engineer, a Board-Certified Environmental Engineer, a Project Management Professional, and a Certified Professional in Municipal Stormwater Management, Erosion and Stormwater Control, Stormwater Quality, and Industrial Stormwater Management. She is NYS certified as a grade 4 Collection System Operator, and NYS-certified Wastewater Trainer with over 10 years of experience as a municipal wastewater and stormwater utility engineer, operator, and manager. Currently, she is the Principal Sanitary Engineer with Buffalo Sewer Authority.
