Safety comes first. In order to ensure that critical fire protection equipment works quickly and reliably every time, it’s important to perform routine maintenance on industrial fire protection equipment, including diesel-powered fire pumps.
When permanently installed diesel-powered fire pumps need routine maintenance, industrial plants must provide a diesel powered back-up pump. Xylem pumps can supply fire water at 100+ psi with flows up to 4,500 US GPM on a temporary basis. Pressure transducers mounted on the discharge of the Dri-Prime pump monitor fire water head pressure and start and stop the pump as necessary.
