The Case
When Atlatec was awarded a 25-year contract to design, build and operate Agua Prieta – the largest wastewater treatment plant in Guadalajara, Mexico – it asked Xylem to provide the pumps and mixers. Local Xylem representative Mauricio Vaca quickly took the opportunity to invite Atlatec’s representatives to Sweden for a first-hand look at the Flygt solution.
The Objective
“Our objective was to demonstrate the quality of the products, as well as the level of expertise and support provided by Xylem,” says Berit Olofsson, visitor services manager at Xylem’s Emmaboda factory. “I believe the people who visit our plant are very impressed by what they see – a well-organized, highly modern, effective, clean factory, backed by dedicated staff and cutting-edge technology.”
The Visit
Xylem arranged for the Atlatec team to visit corporate headquarters in Stockholm, as well as the manufacturing plant in Emmaboda. In Emmaboda, they witnessed a test of the Agua Prieta project, which included 23 3500 Pumps, ranging from 187 to 392 kW, along with 27 PL7055 20 kW Pumps and numerous other pumps and mixers.
The Result
“After visiting the Emmaboda plant, I’m 100 percent confident that we’ve ordered the best equipment for our plants,” says Hector Pineda, Atlatec Project Manager. “This was a great opportunity for us to witness the outstanding technical skills of Xylem’s employees, as well as the high quality standards that go in to both the development and manufacturing of its products.”
