This global, low-powered, wireless mesh networking solution electronically connects a variety of devices. We use Zigbee as a communication option in a number of our electric products.
Zigbee gives your consumers a convenient way to connect electricity metering information right to their home area networks (HANs). They can even read information about water heaters and pool pumps from load control devices. All of this information can be viewed on special in-home displays (IHDs) and programmable communicating thermostats (PCTs) in the home.
Use our Zigbee-enabled meters and load control modules to issue Demand Response (DR) programs to enrolled customers. You can create, monitor, schedule and manage DR events over our FlexNet® communication network. FlexNet-enabled devices automatically transmit that information to Zigbee HAN devices. Your customers can then monitor their usage and learn how to use this information to reduce their consumption and save money. Field technicians can also use our handheld devices to read Zigbee-enabled meters at consumer locations.
All our Zigbee-enabled devices are certified through a program of the Zigbee Alliance — a nonprofit association of more than 300 members. The Alliance promotes worldwide adoption of Zigbee as the leading wirelessly networked, sensing and control standard. Zigbee is used in consumer electronic, energy, home, commercial and industrial products.
Zigbee standards support many optional features. We offer a HAN Device Qualification program to validate and align Zigbee features with our meter and head-end systems features. The very same subject matter expert who is involved in the development of the Zigbee Alliance standards also completes qualification tests. This helps you to deploy qualified devices more quickly to market, with less internal testing.
