Provide integrated, in-depth, real-time knowledge on system, plant, and asset performance which would allow Global Omnium to more efficiently operate and manage the complex water network in Valencia, Spain and the surrounding metropolitan area.
Project Details
More than a decade’s worth of development work done in partnership between Global Omnium and the Valencia Polytechnic University, culminated in a fully interoperable digital twin that has continued to evolve into what is today the Xylem Vue powered by GoAigua software and analytics platform.
Outcomes
The platform is used in Valencia’s control room for the main supply system and its metropolitan area. It is a vital tool supporting decision-making for daily operations and planning tasks and has helped the utility achieve impressive results including a 30% reduction in non-revenue water, a 15% reduction in energy consumption during the water treatment process, and a 20% reduction to OPEX maintenance costs, as well as a 60% increase in customer satisfaction.
