Xylem has opened its first manufacturing facility in the Middle East, as well as a new pump rental and service hub. Both operations, located in Dubai, are part of the company’s $35 million investment to expand across the Middle East and North Africa.
“The Middle East and North Africa region has always been a priority market for us,” said Steve Leung, Senior Vice President and President, Emerging Markets “The manufacturing facility represents the beginning of our long-term commitment to working with local partners and governments to help solve their most complex water challenges.”
The 19,000 square-meter manufacturing facility will produce some of Xylem’s industry-leading pump brands and provide integrated services and support to Xylem’s customers in the region. As part of the inauguration, Xylem Middle East also launched the Flygt Concertor, the world’s first wastewater pumping system with integrated intelligence.
Earlier this year, Xylem announced a $35 million investment to expand its operations across the Middle East and North Africa region. The expansion plan, which will continue to be executed through 2018, includes investment in a number of facilities across the region, as well as offices in Saudi Arabia, Oman and Qatar.
Rental and service hub for Xylem Middle East and North Africa
Xylem’s new Middle East pump rental and service hub in Dubai will provide access to dewatering assets for both temporary and long-term rentals. The company’s market-leading pumps and dewatering solutions play a key role in various stages of construction projects by efficiently keeping sites free of unwanted water. The number of construction projects currently underway in Dubai is valued at $390.8 billion.
