How to size your pumping system

We have available in the home page an easy to use tool that will allow you to select and calculate your pumping system. You can select your pump with the units of measurement of your choice, either using metric units (meters and liters/day) or U.S. units (feet and gallons/day).

To use this tool you require some information, which is essential for a correct selection:

1. Select the unit of measure of your choice:

  • Metric for units in meters and liters/day or
  • US for units in feet and gallons/day.

2. Measure the vertical distance between the source water level (A) to the highest point you will pump to (B). Even for a deep well use the water level and not the depth of the well.

  • Then, write this measurement in the first box. You can move from right to left the indicator or you can type it directly.

3. Indicate the length of the discharge pipe. You can move from right to left the indicator or you can type it directly in the box.

4. In the third box you have the option to indicate if you have a sprinkler in your installation, in case you require it click on the box, if you do not have this accessory leave the space unchecked.

After performing the four steps above, click the “show results” button in the bottom area of the page:

The results will be displayed on the right side of the tool and will provide a list of potential options. The star is highlighting the most economical solution (most water per $).

In case the usage of specific PV modules is desired, the tool offers the functionality to change the “default module” to a “custom module”. For this, please use the drop-down menu in the PV module section and enter the specification of the intended PV module.

You can select your pump easily and quickly by clicking here in the "Size your system" section.
