The newly formed Xylem builds on 100 years of water technology expertise to deliver a powerful combination of water transport, treatment and testing capabilities. It serves public, industrial and residential customers worldwide.
Wherever water is moved on a massive scale, anywhere in the world, Xylem is likely to be the company working hand-in-hand with customers to help solve their water-related challenges.
The market Xylem serves is huge, worth an estimated US$30 billion of the global water equipment and services market. With well-known brands such as Flygt, Godwin and others, Xylem’s products and services provide solutions across the full cycle of water and are key in the collection, distribution and use of water.
In October 2011, Xylem completed its spinoff from the multinational ITT Corporation, to begin operations as a US$3.2 billion standalone water technology company. The company’s products help customers around the world address growing water scarcity, aging infrastructure and more stringent environmental regulations.
In Dubai, Xylem pumps defy gravity by moving water up the 2,700 feet of the Burj Khalif building, one of the world’s tallest buildings, to be used in offices, condominiums, restaurants and swimming pools. And in India’s Kutch District, Xylem’s large water transport pumps are moving up to 2.2 billion gallons of water a day to help irrigate 175,000 acres of arid land, helping turn it into farmland in one of the largest irrigation projects in the world.
