Barge Ballasting & Jetting

Your trusted partner for Marine Construction projects

In marine construction, precision and reliability are key, whether you're working with barges or jetting for marine structures. Our advanced ballasting and jetting systems ensure smooth and efficient operations for critical projects, from bridge construction to underwater installations.

Ballasting

Ballasting a barge is a delicate but necessary operation. The water helps keep the barge level during loading and unloading, which is critical when transferring large structures such as components of a bridge. The ballasting requirements also change for load out and float over procedures.

With unprecedented experience in barge ballasting, our products have helped on bridge construction projects from Rhode Island to California and everywhere in between.

Jetting

Whether you are jetting in freshwater or saltwater applications, a wide range of Xylem's high-head pumps can be used in your marine construction project.

Xylem recommends using two pumps in jetting projects. This allows a feeder pump to power the submersible jetting head that is used to clean the walls prior to concrete filling. The two-pump process eliminates the friction loss on the suction side to allow as much pressure as possible for use in the pillar.
