Program Overview

Xylem recognizes the importance of Supplier Diversity. We are committed to making it part of our strategic sourcing process by providing opportunities for diverse businesses to participate as partners and suppliers in goods and services. Our program’s foundation is driven by Xylem’s most senior leaders and expands company-wide.

We believe this Supplier Diversity Program will help: Support the development of these businesses in becoming competitive performance leaders in their respective industries, promote small business economic growth within the communities served by Xylem, provide focus on diversity as a competitive asset in a performance-based business environment.

Qualifications

To qualify as a diverse business, Xylem recognizes businesses that have been certified by federal, state or local government agencies or supplier diversity advocacy groups. These businesses usually fall under one of the following categories, including but not limited to:

  • Women-Owned Business 
  • Small Disadvantaged Business
  • Veteran Business
  • Small, HUB-Zone Business
  • LGBT- Owned Business

How to Qualify for the Small Business Program

In order for suppliers to qualify for the Small Business Program, suppliers must be self-certified as a small business within the applicable small business-size standards as defined by the Small Business Administration (SBA): www.sba.gov

  • Small Business Certified 8(a)
  • Small Disadvantaged Business
  • HUB-Zone Small Business
  • Veteran-Owned Small Business
  • Service-Disabled, Veteran-Owned Small Business
  • Women Owned Business

Xylem uses national and regional 3rd party advocacy organizations to provide accurate certification status.

Registration

Xylem’s sourcing process is designed to ensure equal and fair treatment of suppliers Registration all hands in.jpgallowing participation in a competitive procurement process.

We will invite diverse suppliers to participate in sourcing events such as requests for quotation (RFQ), requests for proposal (RFP) and/or requests for information (RFI).

We ask diverse suppliers wishing to participate in this process to fill out the form to register them in Xylem’s Supplier Diversity Database. This will enable Xylem’s procurement professionals to access key information about potential suppliers, including capabilities, Supplier Diversity certifications, product/service descriptions, and contact information.
