Consultants Training On Pumping Equipment, Selection Software, BIM files, legislation, Variable Speed Drives (VSD) etc

The consultants’ course covers all the pumping equipment and electronic systems that can be installed inside a building. The course covers all the products used inside a building for each application, including booster sets, end suction, in line pumps, circulators, multistage pumps, sewage, drainage pumps, firefighting systems, and variable speed drives. During the two-day class, attendees will receive instruction on sizing, applications and features/benefits of each product and a complete overview on the tools available to help and support the selection of the correct pump. Each attendee will learn how to select and size the proper pump for the application. In addition, attendees will have the possibility to play with real systems inside the Xylem Learning Center and to visit one of several installations in the factory area.

DAY 1

Factory Tour

Xylem’s facilities adopt the Lean Manufacturing approach, reducing the delivery time and waste with very high flexibility. During the tour the visitor has the possibility to see all the different steps in the manufacturing process, starting with the raw material up to shipment of the final product.
Duration: 1,5 hours.

CBS Product Portfolio

A complete overview of the Xylem portfolio for Commercial Building Services including pumps, controls, VSDs and booster sets.
Duration: 1 hour.

CBS Applications and References

Xylem has extensive experience in Building Services, with several installations across the region. During this session attendees have the chance to see the most important installations, and the different design approaches for water supply, HVAC and wastewater, with a focus on high efficiency system design.
Duration: 2,5 hours.

DAY 2

Ecodesign Directive

A session dedicated to the Ecodesign Framework (2009-125, the ErP) and its directives related to pumps and motors. Attendees learn which are the current directives and laws acting to reduce energy consumption, together with an overview of future development in terms of innovation and Life Cycle Cost analysis.
Duration: 1 hour.

Selection Software and Tools

Attendees learn how to use Xylect– Xylem selection software and all the capabilities of this tool. Additionally it will be shown where and how to find all the information in terms of documentation, CAD and BIM files and the latest tools created by Xylem in order to facilitate the selection and size of products.
Duration: 1 hour.

Variable Speed Drives (VSD)

A complete presentation of Xylem drives and monitoring systems; a comprehensive portfolio of Variable Speed Drives for all the Commercial Building Services applications.
Duration: 1,5 hours.

Optional Site Visit

In the afternoon the class is given the opportunity to visit an external site, where attendees have the chance to see a real working system in one of the many prestigious hotels in Venice.
Duration: 3 hours.
