The HVAC Courses cover all the Xylem HVAC pumps and accessories, including wet rotor circulators, in line, end suction, multistage, double suction pumps and variable speed drives. The courses are set according the different applications and level of knowledge of the attendees:
During the three-day class, attendees will receive instruction on sizing, system design, applications and features/benefits, as well as interactive training in the demonstration classroom, including setup, installation and troubleshooting. The HVAC Course also includes a plant tour of the manufacturing facility. Each attendee will learn how to select and size the correct pump for the application. In addition, attendees will gain valuable experience regarding the different HVAC systems and pumps.
Duration: 3 days
Locations: Montecchio Maggiore, Italy, Strzelin, Poland
The Basic System Design course covers system design for small/medium buildings. Attendees will learn the macro design criteria, the different type of systems, how to size the pipes and calculate pressure drop, and an introduction to open system design with cooling towers. During the course examples, exercises and tips will be delivered.
Duration: 3 hours.
A complete overview and analysis of the different components inside an HVAC system, such as valves, fittings and heat/ cooling generators and their interaction in
a system with pumps.
Duration: 1 hour.
A complete overview on Xylem’s offering in HVAC systems – from small wet rotor circulators up to double suction pumps used for District Heating and Cooling.
Duration: 2,5 hours.
A comprehensive course on primary/ secondary system design, the most common design approach used in heating and cooling systems. Attendees learn the different aspects, benefits and how to correctly balance and size a primary/ secondary system in different applications. A practical session on a working unit in the demonstration classroom will offer the chance to apply what has been learnt during the theoretical session.
Duration: 4 hours.
Xylem’s facilities adopt the Lean Manufacturing approach, reducing the delivery time and waste with very high flexibility. During the tour the visitor has the possibility to see all the different steps in the manufacturing process, starting with the raw material up to shipment of the final product. Duration: 1,5 hours.
Variable Speed Drives are becoming a standard component in HVAC systems. During the course attendees will learn the benefits of adopting a VSD from an energy consumption and comfort point of view. Therefore they will understand how the design of the system changes accordingly to the use of the VSD in heating and cooling including retrofit options. A practical session on a working unit in the demonstration classroom will provide the chance to apply what has been learnt during the theoretical session.
Duration: 3 hours.
The last day of the training may be dedicated to a site visit, where the attendees will have the chance to see a real working system, depending on site availability and the time of year. Duration: 3 hours.
