Aguas de Calpe

Alicante, Spain

Aguas de Calpe deploys Xylem Vue powered by GoAigua to achieve a 35% reduction in non-revenue water and an 89% increase in distribution network performance.

Project Objective

As a municipality with significant fluctuations in water consumption—extremely high demand during the summer—that also relies on multiple reservoir and pumping stations to deal with issues associated with its complicated terrain, the town of Calpe, Spain wanted to optimize their water cycle management.

Project Details

The Xylem Vue powered by GoAigua platform was deployed across both the water and wastewater networks. For the water network, the Meter Data Analytics, Leak Detection, and Real-Time What-If Scenarios applications are being utilized.

On the wastewater network, the Unified Network Management, Clog Monitoring, and Real-Time What-If Scenarios applications are employed. In addition, automated management, and monitoring of pipeline inspections with CCTV cameras have been introduced.

Outcomes

The town of Calpe has achieved a 35% reduction in non-revenue water over the last five years and more than an 89% increase to overall distribution network performance. Likewise, 26 early flood warnings over the first year have enabled Aguas de Calpe to optimize its human resource management during these events.
