Xylem supporting US customers with Tier 4 compliance

If you work in construction, mining, water and wastewater or industrial plants in the US, you may be affected by the Tier 4 emissions standards that are now in effect. The Environmental Protection Agency’s (EPA’s) Tier 4 standards aim to reduce harmful emissions of non-road diesel engines. Xylem has incorporated new final Tier 4 diesel engines into our rental fleet to support customers with this change.

Xylem has already produced hundreds of Interim Tier 4 and Final Tier 4 diesel driven pumps. These technologies ensure that Xylem’s Godwin diesel driven options comply with the EPA’s reduced emissions requirements for new equipment. Some of the developments to meet the emissions requirements include: enhanced engine control technology, diesel particulate filters, diesel oxidative catalyst and selective catalytic reduction.

“While these standards will demand some adjustment across the industry, we are committed to guiding our customers through the transition and helping them understand the operation and application of these advanced engines within dewatering pumps in the field,” says Mike Ramos, Vice President & Director of Operations and Engineering for Xylem’s Godwin brand.

To learn more about how Tier 4 regulations could affect you, read a recent blog post from Xylem’s Molly Russell. She writes that if you are concerned about buying a new diesel-driven pump, rental could be a good option. Xylem’s large rental fleet is available 24/7 and is backed by our proven service and support.

Xylem has also created a Tier 4 Field Guide to explain the regulations and help you make decisions about sizing an application, maintenance, and rental and electric drive options. You can request a copy of the guide here: Tier 4 Diesel Engine Field Guide for Portable Pumps.
