Prior to joining Xylem, Stephen headed Performance, Risk and Optimization operations for Thames Water in London and Southern England. In this role he oversaw planned maintenance, asset insight and investment into the company’s large wastewater network and pumping operation. Stephen holds an MSc in water management from Cranfield University and is a chartered water and environment manager (C.WEM) and environmentalist (C.Env).
Stacia Eckenwiler
Assistant Administrator, Division of Sewerage and Drainage
Columbus, OH
Stacia Eckenwiler is an Assistant Administrator with the City of Columbus Department of Public Utilities, Division of Sewers and Drains. She has been with the city since 2011, and during the bulk of this time was managing the design and construction of water and wastewater treatment capital improvement projects. She recently took on the role of Assistant Administrator and now oversees the city’s two wastewater treatment plants, compost facility and wastewater treatment engineering group. She worked for an engineering consulting firm for about 10 years prior to joining the city. She has a Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering from The Ohio State University, is a Registered Professional Engineer in the State of Ohio, and holds a Class III Water Supply Operator Certification in Ohio.
Kieran Fahey
Director, Long Term Control Plan

Kieran Fahey is the City of South Bend’s long-term control plan Director. A native of Ireland, he previously spent a decade with the Irish EPA. He also worked with the Irish Government’s Department of Agriculture and as a consultant on a range of environmental engineering assignments throughout the European Union and Middle East. He is an environmental scientist and an engineer. He lives in South Bend with his wife and daughter. Kieran is currently reimagining, rewriting and renegotiating the remaining 85% of South Bend’s $860 million CSO long-term control plan.

Nicole Pasch is a Client Solutions Manager for Xylem Inc. where she works in the Great Lakes region to find digital solutions to the most pressing of utility challenges. Nicole previously worked for the City of Grand Rapids, MI for the past 14 years and served last in the role of Acting Assistant Environmental Services Manager over the areas of wastewater, stormwater, air quality, energy, lighting, and communications. Nicole’s work inside the utility was focused on driving an integrated, advanced, and innovative utility, by utilizing real-time digital solutions to advance the way the utility worked today and into the future, under the vision that a connected utility builds a connected community. Nicole holds an MBA from Cornerstone University and a bachelor’s degree in Environmental Biology and Zoology from Michigan State University.
