This challenge calls for students aged 8-18 in the UAE to ideate novel innovative solutions tackling a water issue of their choice (water scarcity, water pollution, water access) locally or globally. Participants seek support from their teachers, mentors and attend online innovation workshops. Finalists are coached on their submission to be presented to the jury. The first-place winner from the Junior Category (8-11) receive a cash prize to be invested in a water solution for the benefit of their school or a community in need. The First-place winner from the Middle Category (12-14) will enter Xylem Ignite Innovation Incubator 6-month program to take their solution to the next level. The First-place winner from the Senior Category (15-18) will get the chance to present the UAE at the Prestigious Stockholm Junior Water Prize SJWP. The International SJWP winner receives a cash prize and a crystal sculpture presented by Crown Princesses Victoria of Sweden., Winners will travel to Stockholm during World Water Week in August 2022 to participate in the week-long culture exchange program with national winners from over 40 other nations. The Innovation Challenge Award’s Ceremony will be held on World Water Day 22nd March 2022 hosted by Xylem MET at the US Pavilion at EXPO2020 Dubai.
