Xylem, a leading global water technology company dedicated to solving the world’s most challenging water issues, expands its impact and commitment to serving the Central Asia and Caucasus region through a subsidiary in Kazakhstan and office in Almaty. Lev Appakov, a leader with 15 years of experience driving sustainable initiatives in the region is also appointed as Managing Director, Central Asia.
This move emphasises Xylem’s continued investment in the region, with a presence now extending to Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan, Turkmenistan, Azerbaijan, Armenia, and Georgia. The expertise located in Xylem’s new office will focus on supplying cutting-edge, sustainable technologies to solve local water needs and support local industries including public utilities, food and beverage, and mining. Through collaboration with customers, Xylem will provide innovative solutions, drive energy efficiencies, reduce emissions and support digitization through predictive analytics of pipelines and equipment.
“With a growing demand for water and wastewater solutions, this move comes at the right moment,” said Lev Appakov, Xylem’s Managing Director for Central Asia. “The new office will house a team of business developers, sales managers and engineering experts who will work closely with customers to provide innovative and sustainable water solutions.”
By establishing a permanent office, Xylem is also boosting its knowledge of regional market trends and enhancing its ability to develop collaborative relationships with local stakeholders and talent. As Xylem continues to develop deep roots in the region, it will be invaluable to create a strong team able to apply local knowledge and strengthen the offering to customers.
