Role at Xylem

Shuping Lu leads Xylem China and Asia with responsibility for all Xylem businesses in the region. Her team delivers localized solutions to address water challenges alongside customers. This includes delivering solutions from Water Infrastructure, Applied Water Systems, and Measurement and Control Solutions (M&CS), along with all product brands within the Xylem portfolio, such as Godwin, Flygt, Wedeco, Sanitaire, Sensus and others.

Professional Background

Shuping joined Xylem more than 25 years ago to establish the company’s presence in China. She has more than 30 years of leadership experience including as:

  • Head of Xylem’s business in China including marketing, sales, services, operations and R&D
  • Vice President, General Manager of Fluid Technology China for Xylem
  • Vice President, Director, Human Resources for Xylem China and India
  • Global Champion of Xylem’s Management System, Lean and Six Sigma continuous improvement 
  • Before joining Xylem, she managed the import and export business at JinBei Automobile in Shenyang and served as a teacher for the Vocational School of JinBei Automobile

Shuping is also a Lean Six Sigma Master Black Belt.

Community Impact

Shuping is a recognized business leader committed to helping others grow through coaching and mentoring programs. She was honored by Forbes China as a Top 100 Most Outstanding Businesswoman and was named one of the outstanding women by the 2020 Boao Enterprise Forum. In 2022, Shuping was invited to serve as a high-end think tank expert by Jilin Provincial Government. In this role, she makes recommendations on major economic and social development matters in Jilin Province.

Over 20 years ago while in Shenyang, she began supporting students living in poverty and helping them continue their education. She’s been active in this work and involved in Xylem’s Watermark program throughout her time at the company.
